1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the MavenThoria website at maventhoria.com and any services you book or purchase from us. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.
2. Our services
MavenThoria provides author and content services including ghostwriting, developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, proofreading, alpha and beta reading, book cover design, blurb and synopsis writing, content pulls and hooks, book formatting, and self-publishing support.
Each engagement is defined by a separate project agreement or proposal that sets out scope, deliverables, timeline and fees. Where a project agreement conflicts with these terms, the project agreement applies for that engagement.
3. Quotes, fees and payment
Quotes are based on the information you provide and are valid for the period stated. Fees, payment schedule and any deposit are set out in your proposal. Work generally begins once any required deposit is received. Late or missed payments may pause work and affect agreed timelines.
4. Revisions and approval
The number and type of revisions included are described in your proposal. We deliver work in stages so you can review and direct it as we go. A deliverable is considered approved when you confirm acceptance or after a reasonable review period stated in your agreement.
5. Ownership and rights
On final delivery and full payment, the rights to the work we create for you transfer to you, including ghostwritten manuscripts. You may publish, adapt and sell your work without further obligation to us. We do not retain royalties or claim authorship.
You confirm that any material you provide to us is yours to share, does not infringe the rights of others, and is lawful. You are responsible for the accuracy of facts and claims in your content.
6. Confidentiality
We keep your identity, manuscripts and project details confidential and do not disclose them without your written permission. A mutual non-disclosure agreement is available on request. We may reference anonymised, non-identifying details of our work unless your agreement states otherwise.
7. Cancellations and refunds
If you need to cancel, the terms in your project agreement apply. Generally, fees for work already completed are non-refundable, and any deposit may be retained to cover work performed and reserved time. We will always aim to handle cancellations fairly and in good faith.
8. Results and disclaimers
We bring professional care and experience to every project, but we cannot guarantee specific outcomes such as sales figures, rankings, reviews, agent or publisher acceptance, or income. Our services are provided on a reasonable-efforts basis.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MavenThoria is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the fees you paid for that project. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Third-party tools and links
Our website may link to third-party tools and platforms, such as our scheduling and messaging providers. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services, which are governed by their own terms.
11. Changes and contact
